Glasperlenspiel

The electro-pop duo Glasperlenspiel unites vocalist Carolin Niemczyk with keyboardist Daniel Grunenberg and takes its name from Nobel Prize-winning author Hermann Hesse’s final complete novel, a futuristic narrative. The pair originated in their native town of Stockach in 2003 and devoted several years to crafting songs for other performers before attaining prominence in 2011, when they supported Ich + Ich on a German tour, captured the Energy Newcomer Contest, secured fourth place for Baden-Wurttemberg at the Bundesvision Song Contest with the single “Echt,” and debuted on the charts at number 15 with the album Beweg Dich mit Mir. Multiple singles appeared in 2012, after which the duo issued the follow-up LP Grenzenlos in 2013 and reached Germany’s Top Ten.
