Andy Grammer, recognized as a multi-platinum performer, works as a capable musician and tunesmith drawn toward modern soul and pop. After early Adult Top 40 successes with “Keep Your Head Up” and “Fine by Me,” he achieved wider recognition through the 2015 album Magazines or Novels, which reached number 19 on the Billboard 200 and cleared the path for The Good Parts in 2017. He later expanded his visibility by taking part in Dancing with the Stars and placing tracks on motion-picture soundtracks such as Five Feet Apart in 2019. The 2021 album Naive entered the Top 30 of the Billboard 200, and he issued the Art of Joy EP the following year before releasing his fifth studio album, Monster, in 2024.

Born in Los Angeles, Grammer is the child of children’s music artist Red Grammer and spent his formative years in New York State. He later moved back to California, where he completed a B.A. in music industry studies at California State University, Northridge. During his student years he started playing shows throughout Los Angeles and performed on the streets to build awareness. Larger engagements soon followed, leading to a recording contract with S-Curve Records.

He introduced his first album, Andy Grammer, in 2011. That summer he toured in support of both Natasha Bedingfield and Colbie Caillat. Two years afterward he put out the EP Crazy Beautiful. Returning in 2015 with his second full-length effort, Magazines or Novels, Grammer included the singles “Back Home” and “Honey, I’m Good,” the latter climbing to number nine on the Billboard chart and making him the first male pop artist since John Mayer to place his opening two singles inside the Top Ten at adult pop radio. Following a 2015 appearance as a contestant on Dancing with the Stars, he issued “Good to Be Alive (Hallelujah),” which became his second straight gold-certified hit. The summer 2016 release “Fresh Eyes” also fared strongly, surpassing 250 million streams and earning platinum status. In June 2017 Grammer offered the single “Give Love” featuring LunchMoney Lewis; the track later surfaced on his third studio album, The Good Parts, issued that December.

February 2019 brought his contribution “Don’t Give Up on Me” to the soundtrack of Five Feet Apart. The song served as the lead single from his fourth studio album, Naive, which arrived that July and included guest turns from Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Andy Mineo, and additional artists. The project reached the Top 30 of the Billboard 200. Further 2020 releases encompassed a duet version of “Best of You” with Elle King and a reworking of “I Found You” with Cash Cash. In 2021 he teamed with R3hab on “Close to You” and unveiled the reflective self-love track “Love Myself.” Both songs, along with the charting “Damn It Feels Good to Be Me,” appeared on the 2022 EP The Art of Joy. “The Wrong Party” with Fitz and the Tantrums and the standalone “Good to Me” closed out the year.

Grammer opened 2023 with the singles “These Tears” and “Love Is the New Money,” followed by the Pentatonix-assisted “Expensive” in September. October 2024 saw the arrival of his fifth full-length album, Monster. Built around the Adam Friedman-produced title track, the record also spotlighted Maddie & Tae on “I Do” and featured his wife, singer Aijia Lise Grammer (aka Aijia), on “Unforgivable.”
