Aqueduct

David Terry, who grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, formed Aqueduct as his solo project. Following his relocation to Seattle, the release of Power Ballads generated regional attention across the Northwest and led to early support slots alongside the Flaming Lips and Modest Mouse. Terry’s distinctive combination of keyboard and vocal hooks over drum-machine rhythms prompted Barsuk Records to sign the project, resulting in the October 2004 release of the Pistols at Dawn EP and the January 2005 release of the I Sold Gold LP. Subsequent tours included dates with Mates of State, Viva Voce, and Golden Republic. In 2007 Aqueduct expanded its live configuration by bringing guitarist Matt Nadler, bassist Noah Ritter, and drummer Chris Whitten into the lineup, and Barsuk issued the band’s second full-length album, Or Give Me Death.
