Arid

Arid, a Belgian rock band, comprises vocalist and guitarist Jasper Steverlinck, guitarist David Du Pré, bassist Filip Ros, and drummer Steven Van Havere. Their emotive alternative rock sound originated in 1996, the year Steverlinck first teamed with Du Pré at a time when both musicians still belonged to separate projects. After exiting those groups and enlisting Ros and Van Havere, the quartet obtained a contract from Double T Records in 1997. Europe received their debut album, At the Close of Every Day, two years afterward, and the widespread praise it earned secured an opening slot for Counting Crows on the latter’s 2000 European tour, precisely when the record also reached American listeners.
