Banda los Recoditos formed in Sinaloa as a Regional Mexican outfit whose core style draws on longstanding traditions while featuring prominent high-register horns, tuba, and dense vocal harmonies. Following two decades of sporadic work and modest visibility, the ensemble secured their first international success in 2010 through the single "Ando Bien Pedo." Thereafter, their singles and albums maintained steady placement inside the Top 20 across major Latin charts. The 2016 long-player Me Está Gustando reached the top of the Regional Mexican rankings, as did Los Gustos Que Me Doy the following year. From the 2019 album Perfecta, both the title track and "No le Hago Falta" each surpassed 200 million video views. In 2020 the group delivered 30 Aniversario, a 30-track collection spanning their recorded history. They continued with Vivir la Vida in 2021 and the EP Me Siento a Todo Dar in 2022.

The Mazatlán, Sinaloa-based band was established in 1989 by friends and relatives connected to La Banda el Recodo de Cruz Lizárraga. Original members included vocalists Alfonso Lizárraga (also known as Poncho Lizárraga) and Pancho Barraza (born Francisco Javier Barraza Rodríguez) among more than a dozen participants. Through an association with Musart, the group issued multiple albums during the 1990s until Lizárraga joined La Banda el Recodo and Barraza pursued a solo path.

After an inactive stretch, Banda los Recoditos reformed around vocalists Carlos Perez, Luis Angel Franco, and Carlos Sarabia, shifting toward a freer, more contemporary sound aimed at younger regional Mexican listeners and well adapted to video formats. Their third album under the new lineup, Si No Existieras, earned the Popular Breakthrough of the Year award at the 2005 Premios Oye!. Building on that recognition, the band collaborated with La Banda el Recodo for the 2006 release Dos Generaciones.

Although Vengo a Decirte (2007) and Y Seguimos Enamorados (2009) grew their following, ¡Ando Bien Pedo! (2010) finally elevated Banda los Recoditos across the United States. Issued by Disa Records under Univision Music Group, the album led the Billboard Latin Albums chart and its title track topped Top Latin Songs. As one of the year's standout regional Mexican recordings, "Ando Bien Pedo" additionally crossed into the Latin pop audience.

Visibility stayed consistent with later projects including A Toda Madre (2011) and Para Ti Solita (2012). El Free (2013) closed the band's Disa era. Signing with Fonovisa yielded the provocative Sueño XXX in 2014 and its 2015 companion Más Sueño XXX. Despite the album's explicit themes, it reached the Top 200 in early 2016—the same week Me Está Gustando debuted—while the compilation Las Bandas Románticas appeared that April.

In 2017 Banda los Recoditos returned with the studio album Los Gustos Que Me Doy, spotlighting the single "No le Hago Falta." The track entered the Top 25 on Hot Latin Songs while the album topped Regional Mexican Albums. They issued the live set En Vivo in spring 2018. The studio album Perfecta arrived in July 2019, the first release after vocalist Rafael González—who had joined following Luis Angel Franco's departure—left for a solo career.

The 2020 collection 30 Aniversario gathered 30 tracks recorded across the band's trajectory, giving many recent listeners their initial exposure to earlier material. Vivir la Vida appeared in 2021, presenting seven new Banda los Recoditos songs alongside collaborations with Grupo Codiciado and Banda los Sebastianes. The following year brought the EP Me Siento a Todo Dar, which featured the hit title track.
