Biography
Formed in 2006 in Peraza, Sinaloa, Mexico, the thirteen-piece family orchestra Banda Rancho Viejo de Julio Aramburo la Bandononona took shape when leader Julio Cesar Aramburo Aramburo joined forces with his father Julian Arámburo Pérez and brothers Michelangelo, David, Orlando, and Victor. Specializing in bandas, rancheras, cumbias, and corridos, the distinctive hitmakers played their inaugural date that same year and cut their first album, Como Tortilla al Comal, for Disa in 2007; the track “Baila Esta Cumbia” quickly became a standout single. The follow-up, Una Vez Mas, arrived in 2008 and climbed higher on the Regional Mexican chart, earning multiple nominations that included best new artist honors at the Univision awards. Their self-titled 2010 release featured the major radio hit “Amor a la Ligera,” while the 2011 album Con Que Derecho, helmed by legendary producer Fernando Camacho, showcased a meticulously assembled track list whose title song and “Mi Nina Mimada” both reached number one on radio playlists. Late 2012 brought the well-received holdover single “Tu Conciencia,” which topped radio airplay despite remaining outside the eventual album sequence. June 2013 saw the arrival of Entre un Millón, again produced by Camacho and featuring material from composers Espinoza Paz, Horacio Palencia, and Luciano Moon; the set not only dominated radio charts but also became the group’s strongest seller to date. A lengthy tour supported the project, after which the 2014 studio album Dejando Huella yielded two Top 30 singles in “Que Machin” and “Mi Veces Ti Quiero.” During fall 2015 Banda Rancho Viejo recorded Luis Siqueiros’ “Ya Lo Pense,” releasing it as a single that December; “Con La Novedad” followed in February 2016. The March release La Bandononoma en Mi Rancho, credited to Banda Rancho Viejo de Julio Aramburo la Bandononona, opened with “Ya Lo Pense.”
