Biography
Hailing from Portland, Oregon, Bewitcher spins grim stories of bloodshed and triumph, driven by blackened speed metal together with an affinity for the occult, Motörhead, Venom, and Bathory. Guitarist and frontman M. von Bewitcher joined bassist Magus to form the band in 2013. After issuing the demos Satanic Panic and Wild Blasphemy, they released their self-titled debut album in 2016 through Divebomb Records. As a ferocious unit that tours without pause, Bewitcher rapidly gathered a devoted cult following, which they sustained via the propulsive, whiplash-inducing albums Under the Witching Cross (2019) and Cursed Be Thy Kingdom (2020), the second of which appeared on Century Media. Deep Cuts & Shallow Graves arrived in 2023 to gather the group’s early demos and unreleased tracks, while Spell Shock followed in 2024, unleashing lethal sonic violence and memorable riffage that further refined Bewitcher’s self-coined “Black Magick Metal” approach.
