Biography
Formed in France toward the end of the 1970s, Bijou operated as a power trio built around Vincent Palmer on guitars, Philippe Dauga on bass, and Dynamite Yan on drums. In the company of the Dogs and Starshooter, the group belonged to a circle of acts devoted to rock & roll without ever reaching widespread commercial success. They appeared at Mont-De Marsan's Punk Festival in both 1976 and 1977, and with the original lineup intact they issued several modestly received LPs, among them the 1978 landmark OK Carole. Palmer later established himself as a prominent music critic, while the remaining members resumed activity in the 2000s—following a decade-long break—under the name Bijou SVP.
