Emerging from the Netherlands' storied tradition of electronic music talents, Mau P—previously active as Maurice West—crafts raw, low-end-heavy tech-house and EDM productions. International recognition arrived abruptly in 2022 via the single "Drugs from Amsterdam," after which he maintained momentum through additional releases and reworkings, among them the 2024 track "On Again."

Maurits Jan Westveen entered the world in 1996 into a household of musicians. Upon reaching 18 he began issuing techno and house material while performing as a DJ, drawing influence from Calvin Harris, Skrillex, and Deadmau5. Issued on Repopulate Records in August 2022, his first single "Drugs from Amsterdam" quickly achieved worldwide impact and established his presence. The Electronic Music Dance Awards later named it both Dance Song of the Year (Non-Radio) and House Song of the Year for 2023. Comparable acclaim greeted "Metro," his joint effort with Kevin de Vries that was cited among the finest dance recordings of 2023.

Further singles such as "Gimme That Bounce," "Your Mind Is Dirty," "Dress Code," and "Beats for the Underground" kept his visibility high, as did official remixes for Swedish House Mafia, Armand Van Helden, and Calvin Harris, along with headline appearances at leading clubs and festivals worldwide. The more song-oriented "On Again" surfaced the following year.
