Biography

Born in Mundo Novo, Brazil, during 1993, Lukas Ruiz Hespanhol launched his career as Vintage Culture, a Brazilian DJ and electronic dance music producer drawn especially to progressive house. Early notice arrived through 2014 EPs such as Everyday's a G-Thing, after which he entered the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll in 2016 and climbed into its Top Ten inside ten years. The 2019 single "In the Dark," a collaboration with Fancy Inc, reached the summit of Billboard's club chart, and his first album, Promised Land, appeared in 2024; Vintage Culture & Friends, Vol. 6 followed later that same year.

Ruiz learned to DJ by studying online tutorials. In the early 2010s his remixes of New Order, Pink Floyd, Cazuza, and Fernanda Abreu began drawing notice. By 2015 he had become a fixture in Brazil's electronic community, which led to appearances at major festivals, international tours, and strong Beatport showings for tracks including "Drinkee" and "Wild Kidz." Further visibility came after he joined Spinnin Records and Spin Agency—the agency behind Avicii and Armin van Buuren—securing sets at Coachella, Burning Man, Tomorrowland, and Time Warp. At home he established the label Só Track Boa and launched the festival Vintage Is a Festival. Promised Land arrived in May 2024; after releasing the Promised Land Remixes package, he issued Vintage Culture & Friends, Vol. 6.
