Finnish producer and DJ Yotto crafts driving progressive house marked by understated drama and pop leanings. Early backing from Above & Beyond and Pete Tong, paired with remixes for Coldplay and Gorillaz, preceded the arrival of his first full-length, Hyperfall, in 2018. Subsequent output has ranged from emotive vocal collaborations to more dancefloor-oriented instrumentals, among them the 2021 collection Songs You Might Remember from Some Parties. The album Growth followed in 2023.

Born Otto Yliperttula, he studied classical piano during childhood before turning toward hip-hop and metal in his teens amid involvement in skateboard culture. His initial releases came as one half of the Helsinki progressive-house duo Something Good, whose first single, “Loop”/“Hanko,” appeared on Silk Royal Records in 2009; the pair went on to issue melodic, upbeat tracks via Nellie Recordings and Nocturnal Groove. Although occasional remixes had already surfaced under the Yotto alias, the producer’s official solo debut arrived with the 2014 single “All I Want”/“Cycle.” Signing to the Anjunadeep label, run by Above & Beyond, he issued the smooth yet suspenseful “Memento”/“Azzurro,” which earned BBC Radio 1 play from Pete Tong. The vocal-focused Wondering EP, featuring his brother Caps, surfaced shortly afterward, and further Anjunadeep material followed alongside remixes for Coldplay, Röyksopp, Gorillaz, and Lane 8.

Yotto’s debut album Hyperfall landed in 2018 and included contributions from Sønin, Vök, and Caps. A companion set, Hyperfall (Remixed), appeared the next year, after which he inaugurated his own Odd One Out imprint—named for a track from the album—with singles such as “Shifter” and “Nova.” Additional solo cuts and joint releases with Lane 8 and Cassian emerged in the ensuing period, culminating in the 2021 EP Songs You Might Remember from Some Parties. Three further projects arrived in 2022: The Valley EP, Erased Dreams, and the continuous mix Odd Ones V2, recorded with Anden. Growth, issued in 2023, featured work with Booka Shade, Julia Church, and Sønin.
