California producer Max Styler crafts music that stretches from hard-hitting trap into buoyant house laced with vintage synth textures. Long before reaching his twentieth birthday he had already established himself as a significant force within the wider EDM landscape. Across numerous singles and EPs issued on imprints such as Dim Mak and Monstercat he balanced club-focused output with the more inward-looking 2016 album Heartache. The celebratory Body High surfaced in 2020; while continuing to issue vocal-led material under his own name, he simultaneously delved into progressive house through the project Habitatt. During 2024 he joined forces with Oscar L and Gorgon City while also dropping standalone cuts including “Time to Go.”

Born and raised in San Luis Obispo, California, Styler picked up the guitar in childhood and was already producing electronic music and performing as a DJ by high school. Early 2013 brought online notice for the dubstep cut “Ready for Launch,” followed that July by a support slot for progressive trance duo Above & Beyond at a sold-out coastal event. On his eighteenth birthday in early 2014 he joined Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak Records; the ensuing single “Badman,” shared with Autoerotique, entered Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Songs chart, and Torro Torro’s later remix earned a 2016 Juno Awards nomination for Best Dance Recording. The 2015 debut EP Aftershock featured partnerships with DEV and Charlier Darker. A busy 2016 yielded the trap track “Fly” alongside Graves as well as the emotionally charged full-length Heartache. Further Dim Mak releases arrived in 2017—“Heroes” featuring Nevve and “Promises” featuring GOLDN—while Monstercat put out the Styler and Dirty Audio collaboration “Roller Coaster.” House-leaning material defined the 2018 Feel It EP, after which the dance-pop direction continued on 2019’s Supernatural.

Body High arrived in 2020, highlighted by the soaring piano-house single “Let Me Take You There” featuring Laura White. Subsequent 2021 output included “Something Beautiful” plus joint tracks with LA Riots, Brux, and Gianni Keys, among others. In 2022 Styler and Friend Within issued the self-titled Atlantic Garden EP and the single “Real Life,” while additional solo releases encompassed “History” featuring Maggie Szabo and “Resist.” The following year brought “Satisfy,” “Hypnotic,” and See, the inaugural Habitatt EP created with Spencer Howard. Key 2024 moments comprised “Rhythm Machine” with Westend, “Lights Out,” and the KLF-sampling “See You Sweat” alongside GENESI, together with the paired “Addiction”/“Yapper” release featuring Oscar L, the Gorgon City collaboration “Touch,” and “Time to Go.”
