Anti Up

Anti Up emerged as a discreet yet potent endeavor from veteran dance-music artists Chris Lake and Chris Lorenzo. Their productions fuse playful wit with intricate studio craftsmanship, evoking the unfiltered edge of acid house while shaped by the expansive energy of festival-oriented tech-house. In 2018 the pair unveiled their first EP, Hey Pablo, and followed it with multiple club-focused singles ahead of their inaugural album, What Is Life, which surfaced in 2024.

The project made its initial appearance that same year via the tongue-in-cheek Ministry of Sound release “Pizza.” Shortly afterward the three-track Hey Pablo EP came out on the duo’s own Up the Anti Records, with the tracks “Concentrate” and “Right Now” arriving in 2019. After inking a deal with Atlantic/Big Beat Records, the 2021 single “Sensational” wove in influences from ’80s freestyle and synth pop and received a Tensnake remix. Additional cuts “Shake” and “Something’s About to Go Down” appeared around the same period, succeeded by “Chromatic” in 2022. The full-length debut What Is Life, which includes contributions from Audio Bullys, Olly Burden, and NCognita, reached listeners in 2024.
