Biography
Bliss 66 fuses heartland, American traditional rock, and alternative rock into a robust sound that echoes Matchbox Twenty and Train. The six musicians, who first bonded through a church youth group while attending high school, formed in Taylor, Michigan, and began attracting notice well before earning their diplomas. Their performances convey a visceral intensity that stands out among rock outfits of the new millennium. Cheyenne Goff (vocals), Aaron Schossau (guitar), Jordan Barnett (keyboards/vocals), Bob Cook (drums), Rob Harbin (guitar/vocals), and Don Patty (bass) realized a long-held ambition when Epic offered them a contract in mid-2000. Not long afterward, producer Glen Ballard (Alanis Morissette, Dave Matthews Band) placed their song “Not Quite Paradise” on the soundtrack for the science-fiction film Titan A.E. Ballard also guided the sessions for the band’s debut album, Trip to the 13th, which arrived in June 2001.
