Biography
Dieter Geike records solo under the name Blonker. A German composer and musician, he plays keyboards, bass, guitar, and numerous additional instruments. His characteristically gentle rhythms usually fuse jazz, rock, classical, and new age into a silky, seamless whole. Geike issued his first album, Die Zeit Steht Still, in 1978. In 1980 he joined the Philips Records roster and delivered the albums Fantasia and Windmills. Four years afterward he moved to Mercury and completed three further full-length releases. At the beginning of 1990 he began working with BSC Music. Projects such as 1980’s Time to Remember and 1998’s Wellness maintained his presence with listeners. During the 1990s he earned repeated favorable notices as Blonker. Over time his audience expanded from Russia across Europe and into America.
