Originating in Portland, Oregon, the four-piece pop-punk group Blowout assembled when housemates and friends Laken Wright on vocals and bass, Travis King on guitar, Brennan Facchino on guitar, and Nick Everett on drums decided to form a band. Their debut performance occurred in February 2014, followed shortly by the release of their opening EP, We All Float Down Here. The recording drew notice for its sharp, sun-drenched pop-punk approach that sat between P.S. Eliot, the Get Up Kids, and Hop Along, helping the outfit expand its audience. The members sustained an intense touring regimen through the balance of the year, appearing alongside Winter Break and LVL UP before entering the studio in mid-2015 to track their first album, intended as a co-release on Lauren Records and Making New Enemies. Lauren reissued the debut EP on cassette in early 2016, and the full-length No Beer, No Dad arrived that August. At the start of 2017 the musicians announced their decision to disband, wrapping up with a short series of shows that included a support date for Surfer Blood.
