Emerging as an Italian teen idol during the 1960s, Bobby Solo launched his career by cutting his initial pair of singles in 1963, titled "Ora Che Sei Gia Una Donna" and "Blue é Blue." His rise to prominence occurred in 1964 through his appearance at the San Remo Festival, performing "Una Lacrima Sul Viso," a track that marked a significant moment in the annals of Italian pop. The following year saw him claim victory at the identical festival with "Se Piangi, Se Ridi," a feat he repeated in 1969 by delivering Gianni Morandi's "Zingara," which Connie Francis would subsequently cover. After his eponymous first album came Il Secondo LP and La Vie En Rose. A disco rendition of "Una Lacrima Sul Viso" in 1978 restored his presence on both domestic and continental hit lists.
