Biography
Body Type, the garage rock outfit based in Sydney, fuse scuzzy riffs with dream pop melodies while the presence of two lead vocalists supplies an added dimension of harmony.
Formation began when Sophie McComish, who plays guitar and sings, moved from New York to Sydney. Carrying a handful of demoes, she recruited Cecil Coleman on percussion. Pleased with those early writing sessions, the pair invited Annabel Blackman (guitar, vocals) and Georgia Wilkinson-Derums (bass) to round out the group. The debut single “Ludlow” surfaced in 2016, yet two additional years of live performances preceded the eponymous EP. Partisan signed the band in 2018 and issued EP2 the following year.
