Biography
Holly Rankin, a New South Wales-based producer, multi-instrumentalist, and singer/songwriter, records under the alias Jack River. She first appeared under her given name, releasing laid-back, psych-tinged electropop that quickly built a devoted regional audience. Momentum in Sydney prompted her to adopt the Jack River name, which soon attracted interest from the independent Australian imprint I Oh You Records. The label issued her opening single under the pseudonym—the Rankin-and-Xavier Dunn-produced “Talk Like That”—in early 2016 as a lead-in to the debut EP Highway Songs #2, which followed later that year. “Fault Line” appeared in 2017, with “Ballroom” arriving the next year.
