Celia Pavey, known professionally as Vera Blue, is an Australian singer and songwriter whose lyrical style merges an affinity for folk traditions with atmospheric, moody electronica. After placing second on The Voice Australia in 2013, she issued her debut album This Music, which entered the ARIA Top 20. Adopting the Vera Blue moniker, she later unveiled the album Perennial, propelled by the double-platinum single “Regular Touch.”

Born in 1994 in Forbes, Australia, Pavey absorbed classic folk and pop recordings from the 1960s and 1970s while exploring the natural surroundings of her father’s nursery, where he worked as a horticulturalist. During her teenage years she developed into a skilled multi-instrumentalist, performing vocally as well as on guitar and violin. In 2013 she secured her place on The Voice Australia through an emotive take on Simon & Garfunkel’s “Scarborough Fair/Canticle,” ultimately finishing as runner-up; afterward she released the full-length This Music via Universal, which reached number 14 on the ARIA Albums Chart, followed a year later by the EP Bodies.

Seeking a broader sonic palette, Pavey connected with sibling producers Andy and Thom Mak and began blending her folk-rooted approach with electronic textures and atmospheric rhythms. She signaled this evolution by assuming the stage name Vera Blue, issuing the EP Fingertips in 2016 and the sophomore album Perennial the following year. The latter climbed to number six on the ARIA Albums Chart, driven by the double-platinum success of “Regular Touch.” Subsequent momentum brought a featured appearance on Flume’s “Rushing Back,” which peaked at number 12 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, along with extensive touring that included her own headline dates and support slots for both Flume and Maggie Rogers. The live recording Lady Powers Live at the Forum appeared in 2018, succeeded by the 2019 singles “All the Pretty Girls” and “The Way That You Love Me.” In 2020 she returned with the Andy and Thom Mak-produced track “Lie to Me.”
