Melbourne native Georgia Flipo crafts emotionally charged, anthemic synth pop under the name G Flip. Attention arrived with the 2018 debut single "About You," after which they refined their approach on the 2019 full-length About Us, an ARIA-nominated release that reached the Australian Top Ten. The drum-centric DRUMMER followed in 2023.

Raised in a household filled with music, Flipo absorbed the Clash and Green Day through their father and developed a taste for pop and R&B via their mother. At age nine an uncle gifted them a drum kit, sparking formal study of the instrument; several years later they added piano and guitar while performing across styles from metal to reggae. High-school drum instructor Jenny Rose Morrish became a key mentor whose guidance secured Flipo’s admission to Box Hill Institute, where they completed a Bachelor of Music with a drum major. After Morrish succumbed to cancer in 2015 at age 31, Flipo resolved to realize her ambition of touring the United States. They joined the band EMPRA as drummer and backing vocalist, eventually fulfilling that goal on American stages.

Following EMPRA’s dissolution in late 2016, Flipo turned fully to solo work. Much of 2017 was spent honing production and vocal technique through online lessons while constructing a custom audiovisual screen for their kick-drum head, dubbed the Je Re Mo in tribute to Morrish. Between sessions they offered drum and guitar instruction to local schoolchildren from their studio. Early 2018 brought a signing with Future Classic, and February saw the release of debut single "About You," which drew broad praise and notable chart and streaming traction. Their first live appearance followed months later at SXSW. For the debut album they enlisted Scissor Sisters’ Scott "Babydaddy" Hoffman, Melbourne producer and songwriter Joel Quartermain, and producer Ariel Rechtshaid. The resulting About Us, shaped by the turbulent relationship Flipo navigated during G Flip’s formative period, appeared in August 2019 and included the Australian Top Ten single "Drink Too Much."

Subsequent years yielded non-album singles such as "Hyperfine," "You & I," and "I'd Rather Go to Bed" in 2020 while Flipo began work on new material. 2021 brought "Queen" with mxmtoon and the UPSAHL collaboration "Scream," the same year Flipo moved to Los Angeles. The strutting "GAY 4 ME" featuring Lauren Sanderson and the solo track "Waste of Space" surfaced the following year. In the first half of 2023 G Flip introduced the second album DRUMMER via lead single "Be Your Man," written as a tribute to partner and actress Chrishell Stause; the couple wed that May. Issued on Future Classic in August 2023, the completed DRUMMER LP blended pop and rock with drums placed prominently in the mix.
