Big Scary

Originating from Australia, the duo known as Big Scary crafts pop that feels both atmospheric and intimate, blending elements from acoustic instruments, electric ones, and electronic production. Their formation took place in Melbourne during 2006, consisting of Tom Iansek alongside Joanna Syme, with both handling lead vocals. Prior to their first full-length release, the group put out multiple EPs, eventually unveiling Vacation as their debut album in 2011. Returning in 2013, Big Scary delivered Not Art as their second album, earning the Australian Music Prize the following year. Animal, their third album, achieved the top position on Australian charts for the first time in their career.
