As Bonsai Mammal, producer and composer Jimmy Harry shapes intricate electronica laced with worldbeat elements and marked by a contemplative mood. He launched the endeavor in 2016 following more than twenty years spent as a producer, songwriter, and studio musician whose clients had included P!nk, Britney Spears, and Kylie Minogue. The self-titled debut EP appeared through Curvature Records that December.

A native of San Diego now living in Los Angeles, Harry first gained notice in the early 1990s by penning material for Kylie Minogue, then co-produced Mitsou’s Tempted and RuPaul’s Supermodel of the World in 1993 while also supplying songs for both releases. During the following decade he collaborated with Britney Spears, Lisa Loeb, Ryan Cabrera, and P!nk. In 2010 his production on P!nk’s “Sober” earned a Grammy nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. Two years later he shared a Golden Globe for co-writing Madonna’s Best Original Song, “Masterpiece.” Subsequent work with artists such as Diplo and Serena Ryder preceded the arrival of the Bonsai Mammal project and its Curvature Records EP in late 2016.

January 2018 brought the single “For You” on the Lowly Palace imprint, and two months later Bonsai Mammal and vocalist Lils appeared on Autograf’s “Dead Soon.” Harry and Lils reunited later that year for their own track, “Like Water.”
