Biography
The hip-hop and dancehall reggae blend of Born Jamericans helped them build a devoted audience through two albums released during the mid-1990s. Mr. Notch handled the smooth vocal parts of the duo while Edley Shine provided the gritty ragga rap delivery. Their first record, Kids From Foreign, achieved success in reggae circles after coming out in 1994, leading to widespread popularity on the reggae scene where they supported acts like Buju Banton, Shabba Ranks, Zhané, and Shai. Guests including Mad Lion, Shinehead, and Johnny Osbourne appeared on Yardcore, the follow-up LP that arrived in spring 1995.
