Biography
Vancouver-based rapper Boslen strives to expand the boundaries of mainstream rap through bold experiments in style and production, forging a hypnotic sound far removed from conventional formulas. Following years of independent releases, he joined Capitol Records to issue his 2021 album Dusk to Dawn.
Raised on a farm in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Boslen turned to music as an escape during periods of sadness and isolation from his environment. He enrolled briefly at the University of Victoria with a rugby scholarship, yet severe injuries ended his athletic pursuits. In 2018 he left the university to devote himself entirely to music, issuing the mixtapes Motionless and Motionless II that same year. His artistic direction crystallized with the 2019 EP Black Lotus, after which later singles blended trap rhythms with rock, pop, and punk-infused energy. The Capitol release Dusk to Dawn arrived in August 2021 and included appearances by Toronto rapper Charmaine, Dro Kenji, Rascalz, and additional contributors.
