Biography
In 1997 vocalist Mark Arnell and keyboardist Richie Wermerling formed the London five-piece Bottlefly, whose style merged time-honored British pop craftsmanship with a wide-ranging alternative-rock perspective. Guitarist Lizzard, bassist Lawrence Addison, and drummer Danny Martin completed the roster, each having previously performed in Arnell’s earlier group the Velvet Dogs. The band’s first album, the self-titled Bottlefly, appeared in 2000 and expanded its sonic range by folding in elements of ska, psychedelia, R&B, and electronic dance music.
