Biography
The Atlanta quartet Boyz N da Hood consists of Miguel "Big Gee" Scott, Lee "Big Duke" Dixon, Jay "Young Jeezy" Jenkins, and Jacoby "Jody Breeze" White. After signing to P. Diddy's Bad Boy imprint, the MCs issued their self-titled debut in summer 2005. Sho'Nuff Records co-owner Russell "Block" Spencer assembled the lineup, whose early tracks quickly drew attention from multiple labels. Despite having no plans to add new acts, Diddy found himself persuaded enough to pursue the group directly. Once Young Jeezy's solo project Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101 (2005) arrived on Def Jam several months later and far exceeded the group's sales, he departed to focus on his own career. Gorilla Zoe stepped in as his replacement and appeared on the follow-up Back Up N da Chevy (2007).
