Biography
After Lil Scrappy climbed the charts under their guidance, the Atlanta-based label and management outfit Crunk Incorporated shifted focus to the six-member Crime Mob as the source of their next major success. The ensemble—rappers Diamond, Killa C, Cyco Blac, Princess, Jock aka M.I.G., and Lil Jay—quickly gained traction with their boisterous, party-oriented crunk sound, leading the single “Knuck If You Buck” to register strongly on urban radio throughout summer 2004. Their self-titled debut arrived in August of that year and reached number five on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
The outfit resurfaced in late 2006 with “Rock Yo Hips,” a track that climbed to the Top 10 on the R&B/Hip-Hop survey and entered the Hot 100’s Top 40. The single paved the way for the delayed follow-up album Hated on Mostly, finally issued the next year. Its rollout was hindered by internal group tensions. The members then fell silent until five years later, when all but Princess reunited for a performance in Atlanta.
