Biography
Originating from Atlanta under the name Darryl Richardson, the crunk specialist Lil Scrappy gained initial notice through BME Recordings and Lil Jon. His standing grew steadily across the Southeast until national exposure arrived in 2003 through the successful track “Head Bussa.” A joint EP shared with labelmates Trillville reached listeners in February 2004 and produced the single “No Problem,” after which the crunk style itself shifted permanently. The full-length Bred 2 Die Born 2 Live appeared in 2006 and spotlighted the hit “Money in the Back” that featured Young Buck.
