Biography
Since their establishment in 2011, the K-pop ensemble Brave Girls has cycled through multiple member configurations while maintaining consistent presence in South Korea's upper chart tiers with their lively dance-pop sound, a trajectory initiated by their inaugural extended play Back to Da Future. Their initial ascent to the pinnacle of the domestic singles ranking occurred via the 2017 track "Rollin'" achieving widespread popularity during 2021, propelling their subsequent fifth EP Summer Queen into the leading three positions that same year.
Brave Entertainment's creation Brave Girls originated under the guidance of producer Brave Brothers back in 2011. The founding roster comprising Eunyoung, Seo-a, Yejin, Yooqin, and Hyeran secured the nineteenth position with their introductory release "Do You Know." July 2011 saw the arrival of Back to Da Future, which attained fourteenth place among albums. The ensuing Re-Issue in 2012 mirrored this album chart achievement. Following the 2013 issuance of the independent single "For You," Brave Brothers expressed plans for a complete Brave Girls album, resulting in an extended break spanning two and a half years.
Their reemergence at the start of 2016 featured only Yoojin and Hyeran from the prior configuration, joined by Eunji, Hayun, Minyoung, Yujeong, and Yuna for the High Heels EP that entered the Top 30. With the departure of Yoojin and Hyeran, the quintet of Eunji, Minyoung, Yujeong, and Yuna delivered the 2017 fourth EP Rollin' along with its titular lead track. A revised edition of "Rollin'" excluding Hayun emerged in 2018 as an offering to supporters, while 2020 brought the Top Five single "We Ride" from Eunji, Minyoung, Yujeong, and Yuna.
Viral circulation of a fan-compiled video set to "Rollin'" in early 2021 elevated the song to the number one spot on the national singles listing. The June launch of Summer Queen positioned it at number three on the Korean album ranking, accompanied by numerous honors in music and culture, among them designation as Honorary Ambassador of Korea Tourism.
