Biography
Brian McComas entered the world in Bethesda, Maryland, yet spent his formative years deep in the Ozarks after relocating to Harrison, Arkansas. His path in music began at age sixteen upon encountering singer/songwriter Paul Overstreet, a key influence, who supplied the address of his publishing company; McComas responded by sending in songs, which prompted a return call along with encouragement to refine his craft and keep submitting material. Following enrollment at both the University of Arkansas and Southwest Missouri State University, he relocated to Nashville and secured a publishing agreement with Polygram Music. A short tenure at Mercury Records preceded his signing with Lyric Street Records, the label that issued his debut album, Brain McComas, in 2003. Its lead single, "99.9 Percent Sure (I've Never Been Here Before)", reached the Billboard Top Ten.
