Biography
Originating from Monticello, Kentucky, Kevin Denney absorbed bluegrass and gospel influences throughout his early years. A George Strait concert proved decisive, convincing him that a professional music path was inevitable. Membership in a regional ensemble eventually led to his placement on the Lyric Street Records roster. In 2002 his debut single, "That's Just Jessie," appeared and registered on Billboard's Country singles charts. April of that year brought the arrival of his self-titled first album, which reached Billboard's Top 20 on the strength of the follow-up single "Cadillac Tears."
