Biography
Steve Holy grew up in Dallas, Texas, as the youngest of eight siblings and amused his elementary classmates by copying Conway Twitty’s vocal mannerisms. At nineteen he tried out for the nearby Mesquite Opry, which led to a place on Johnny High’s Country Music Revue and, ultimately, that showcase’s Entertainer of the Year title. The recognition drew the notice of veteran producer Wilbur Rimes and his daughter LeAnn, who advised the singer to pursue connections in Nashville. Curb Records signed the emerging songwriter in 1999, and the Wilbur Rimes-produced Blue Moon appeared at the close of 2000. Brand New Girlfriend followed in 2006.
