Biography
Brooke Simpson, a Native American pop singer, first drew widespread notice in 2017 when she joined the cast of NBC's The Voice. A full-blooded Haliwa-Saponi tribal member, she spent her formative years in North Carolina, where her evangelist parents raised her. From age seven onward she performed regularly with her relatives during church services, an experience that led her to devote herself fully to music and secure an audition for the program's 13th season. Mentored by Miley Cyrus, she progressed through the competition until reaching the finals, where she placed third. In January 2018 Republic Records put out a set of studio versions drawn from her performances on the series.
