Brother Cane

In 1990, singer and guitarist Damon Johnson teamed with bassist Glen Maxey to launch the Birmingham, Alabama hard rock quartet Brother Cane, first operating under the name Chyld before guitarist Roman Glick and drummer Scott Collier completed the lineup. Virgin Records signed the band, which delivered its self-titled debut LP in 1993; the opening single “Got No Shame” quickly scored a major success at AOR radio. Maxey left shortly afterward, shifting Glick to bass, and the arrival of guitarist David Anderson allowed the group to record 1995’s Seeds. Wishpool arrived in 1998 and introduced the hit “I Lie in the Bed I Make.”
