Biography
Steve Anderson, a producer based in London, and Dave Seaman, a Leeds DJ, first crossed paths in 1988 via the DMC organization. They soon earned recognition as one of the UK house scene’s boldest and most in-demand remix partnerships. Initial acclaim arrived through daring reworkings of older material, among them Heaven 17’s ‘Temptation’ and Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s ‘Welcome To The Pleasuredome’. Further assignments encompassed Sabrina Johnson’s ‘Peace’, several Pet Shop Boys recordings (‘We All Feel Better In The Dark’, ‘DJ Culture’, ‘Was It Worth It?’, ‘Seriously’), Kylie Minogue’s ‘Finer Feelings’, Ce Ce Peniston’s ‘We Got A Love Thang’, Lulu’s ‘Independence’ and Judy Cheeks’ ‘Reach’. They also became the first British team invited to remix Michael Jackson, handling ‘Who Is It?’, and subsequently contributed to a track for sister Janet Jackson. Working under the Brothers In Rhythm name, they released the singles ‘Such A Good Feeling’ (later remixed by Sasha) and ‘Peace And Harmony’, yet their exit from 4th & Broadway in 1992 postponed the arrival of a third effort, ‘Forever And A Day’. Additional material appeared via the aliases Brothers Love Dub on ‘Ming’s Incredible Disco Machine’ and Creative Thieves on ‘Nasty Rhythm’. Seaman further helped steer the DMC/Stress Records network, notably aiding the launch of Mixmag, the club community’s essential guide, and entered into a publishing agreement with MCA.
