Biography
BSS functions as a three-member offshoot from the South Korean boy band Seventeen and delivers buoyant renditions of dance-pop that pull from assorted styles. Their first single, "Just Do It," appeared in 2018 as the initial spinoff project from Seventeen, yet five years passed before the trio issued their debut single-album, Second Wind, which topped South Korea's chart in 2023.
DK, Hoshi, and Seungkwan introduced the then-unreleased track "Just Do It" during a Seventeen fan gathering in February 2018. Intended solely as a one-off rendition, the enthusiastic reception led directly to the creation of BSS as Seventeen's earliest sub-unit. That March the members issued a studio recording of "Just Do It" as an official single, which registered modestly on Korea's singles chart. Their next release, the February 2023 single "Fighting" featuring Lee Young Ji, performed far better by reaching the Top Five. Issued at the same time on Pledis, the single-album Second Wind entered at number one on South Korea's album chart while landing inside the Top Three in Japan.
