Biography
Tion Torrence entered the world as the offspring of Black Panther parents and absorbed the skater and hip-hop scenes that defined his upbringing in the Bay Area. Music permeated his childhood because his father performed backup vocals in Marvin Gaye's touring band, which prompted Torrence to take up rapping during his teenage years. Commercial instincts surfaced alongside his artistic drive, prompting him to establish Urban Productions and stage a four-day festival in 1998 that fused skating with hip-hop. He next handled tour management for L.A. rapper Aceyalone across Australia, an assignment that simultaneously elevated his profile as MC and graffiti writer Bukue One after the track "4 tha Graff Heads" resonated with international audiences. Additional tours, singles, and mixtapes accumulated in the years that followed, culminating in 2007 with Bukue One's first official full-length, Intromission, issued exclusively in digital format through Alpha Pup Records.
