Bullet Height

Sammi Doll, handling vocals and keys for synth pop outfit IAMX, joins Jon Courtney on vocals and guitars from alt-rock group Pure Reason Revolution to form Bullet Height, a Berlin-based electronic rock project defined by industrial-tinged electronics, crushing guitar riffs, and pummeling drum work. The project originated in 2015 after Courtney relocated from London to Berlin and began producing new material intended to sound far heavier and darker than his primary band's releases. Direction took shape following his introduction to Doll through a mutual friend during a Halloween night in the German capital, where she had settled to tour with IAMX. Their conversation about artistic tastes prompted the pair to explore new musical directions, leading directly to Bullet Height's creation. After completing initial writing and recording, the duo signed with German independent label Superball Music and released their debut single "Bastion" in early 2016. The track earned recognition for its stark, visceral quality together with magnetic melodies and hooks. While performing across Berlin's enthusiastic underground music scene, they prepared their first full-length album. Summer 2016 brought the second single "Hold Together," featuring B-side remixes by pioneering British breakbeat DJ/producer Hyper and Texas-based ArtVersusIndustry. Their debut album No Atonement appeared on Superball Music in May 2017.
