Singer, songwriter, and producer Burhan G built a platinum-certified career in Denmark on a sleek blend of pop hooks and hip-hop-tinged R&B. He first appeared in the early 2000s, issuing his initial long-player, Playground, in 2004. The most prominent releases of his catalog emerged around the start of the following decade: the self-titled 2010 project climbed to number two, while Din for evigt reached the top of the Danish albums chart in 2013. He sustained strong chart momentum across the remainder of the 2010s, placing both Pas på pigerne (2016) and Et barn af jul (2019) inside the Top Five.

Born Burhan Genç Koç in Brøndby Strand, Denmark, he launched his professional path as a supporting vocalist with the Danish pop-rap outfit Outlandish, contributing to the track “Walou” that surfaced on their debut album Outland’s Official and again on the 2002 follow-up Bread & Barrels of Water. Burhan stepped out on his own with Playground, released by BMG in 2004. The set proved successful, yielding the English-language single “Take U Home” and collecting three Danish Music Awards nominations in 2005; he ultimately claimed the Best New Danish Artist trophy. In 2007 he delivered his second album, Breakout, which introduced the singles “Who Is He” and “Sacrifice.” That year he also guested as rapper on Ida Corr’s international hit “Let Me Think About It,” produced by Fedde Le Grand, which reached number one in several European territories.

Beginning in 2008, Burhan shifted his focus to Danish-language material. That summer he scored his first domestic-language success with “Kun dig.” The ensuing self-titled album, certified seven-times platinum, followed. In 2010 he achieved his initial Danish singles-chart summit with “Mest ondt,” featuring Medina. His 2013 release Din for evigt, another multi-platinum effort, became his first album to top the national chart. Three years later he returned with his fifth studio album, Pas på pigerne, which earned him a third Top Four placement. Et barn af jul arrived in 2019, peaking at number two and housing the chart-topping single “Tinka” alongside Frida Brygmann. Entering the 2020s he continued to register Danish Top 40 entries, including the collaboration “Burhan G” with Kidd and Tobias Rahim.
