Danish pop sensation Christopher draws listeners in with his smooth, elevated tenor and adept command of falsetto, cultivating a vast audience through his upbeat, groove-heavy style. His breakthrough arrived in 2011 via an acoustic online take on Robyn's "Call Your Girlfriend," a clip that rapidly circulated online with thousands of views and cleared the path for his first single and album.

Born Christopher Nissen on January 31, 1992, and raised in the Copenhagen suburb of Kastrup on the island of Amager, he displayed an early passion for music and started singing at age three. Aspiring to fame, he picked up the guitar at 12 and began composing material; while still attending high school, he arrived unannounced at EMI's Copenhagen offices, guitar in hand, and played several originals for executives, who signed him immediately in recognition of his boldness. The debut single "Against the Odds," a funky pure pop ballad, appeared in September 2011 and climbed to number 23 on the Danish singles chart. Its successor, "Nothing in Common," arrived the next January and performed stronger, peaking at number five. His first album, Colours, followed a few months later and reached number four on the albums chart.

Major and international recognition came in 2014. Having cultivated a large social-media following, he generated anticipation for the second album, Told You So. The project leaned further into R&B than its predecessor while highlighting Christopher's growth as both vocalist and songwriter. It entered at number two on the Danish albums chart, yet streaming platforms drove its strongest impact by holding the top spot on Denmark's streaming charts for seven weeks. Released in China as well, the album sparked sufficient interest to support a promotional tour there. The non-album single "CPH Girls," an ode to the attractions of his hometown, featured American R&B singer Brandon Beal and reached number two on the QQ Charts for Western music; Beal later reciprocated by including Christopher on his own single "Twerk It Like Miley." Both tracks topped the Danish charts. Christopher cemented his standing by collecting multiple honors at the 2014 Danish Music Awards, among them Pop Album of the Year, and by taking Best Danish Act at the 2014 MTV EMAs.

He next focused on his third album, enlisting producers including Clarence Coffee, Jr. and the Nordsø Brothers. The album's first single, the suggestive "Tulips" with its playful double entendres, surfaced in August 2015. The full-length Closer arrived a year later and claimed the summit of the Danish albums chart. In 2018 Christopher issued the non-album single "Bad."
