After gaining widespread attention through viral momentum surrounding his single "Mine," R&B-influenced pop singer/songwriter Bazzi entered the mainstream. The song advanced gradually on the charts before reaching a peak just outside the Top Ten on the Hot 100 and appeared on his debut album COSMIC, which itself landed in the Top 40. His second studio effort, Soul Searching, reached the Top 20 of the Billboard 200 in 2019, propelled by the viral tracks "Paradise" and "I.F.L.Y." Further releases followed, among them the buoyant 2021 cut "I Like That" and the wistful 2022 song "Will It Ever Feel the Same?," both included on the album Infinite Dream.

Andrew Bazzi was born in Canton, Michigan, to Lebanese-American parents. Displaying an early flair for performance, he imitated Elvis and Ricky Martin during childhood and later took up the oud and acoustic guitar. Following high school he relocated to Los Angeles with his father to chase a music career. While cultivating an online following, he joined Fancy Cars on the 2016 single "Fun." Drawing from artists such as Justin Timberlake and Bryson Tiller, Bazzi issued his first solo track, "Alone," shortly afterward. The 2017 singles "Sober," "Beautiful" featuring Camila Cabello, and "Got Friends?" preceded his wider breakthrough, which arrived once "Mine" spread rapidly via an Internet meme. Its sleek, relaxed production helped turn the romantic number into a streaming success, placing Bazzi on the Billboard Hot 100 in January 2018. Months later his debut full-length COSMIC appeared, containing the additional singles "Gone" and "Honest" and entering the Billboard 200 at number 35.

One year after that release Bazzi returned with the mixtape Soul Searching, which included the title track, the single "No Way!," and guest spots from 6LACK and 21 Savage; the project debuted at number 20 on the U.S. album chart. A series of singles emerged during the first half of 2020, among them "Young & Alive," followed by the good-natured "I Like That" in 2021 and "Will It Ever Feel the Same?" in 2022. All three tracks featured on Infinite Dream. Bazzi began 2023 with the standalone single "Eyes."
