Biography
Christian French crafts a relaxed yet catchy style that blends elements of pop, hip-hop, and R&B. His breakthrough arrived via the 2018 viral debut single “Fall for You,” after which he issued the Natural Colors EP. He expanded on his romantic and emotionally charged approach through further releases such as the 2019 EP Bright Side of the Moon, the 2020 EP Good Things Take Time, and the 2023 EP The Space Between, plus the 2024 singles “The Nostalgia Tapes 1.”
Born Christian Blake French in 1997, he spent his childhood in Fishers, Indiana, absorbing the sounds of John Mayer, Gavin DeGraw, and SoMo. During his teenage years he learned piano on his own by covering songs and sharing those performances online. While enrolled at Indiana University he began composing original material and partnered with producer Triegy. Their first collaboration, “Fall for You,” gained traction digitally, leading to additional singles that enabled French to relocate to Los Angeles. There he collaborated with producer Dru De Caro and delivered the Natural Colors EP in December 2018, around the same period joining Chelsea Cutler on the road. In 2019 he unveiled his next EP, Bright Side of the Moon, featuring the single “Hungover Sunday,” appeared on Hoodie Allen’s track “Come Around,” and toured with Quinn XCII. The fourth EP, Good Things Take Time, followed in 2020, succeeded in 2023 by The Space Between. The 2024 releases included another EP, Punch the Brakes, alongside the standalone singles “Superglue” and “The Nostalgia Tapes 1.”
