New York's Maude Latour blends sparkling, narrative-rich indie pop with a soft alt-pop sensibility. The singer/songwriter launched her recording career while still in her late teens, steadily cultivating a strong streaming following through the 2019 EP Starsick before scoring wider attention with the 2020 single "One More Weekend." She inked a deal with Warner Bros. just prior to releasing the 2021 EP Strangers Forever, whose 2022 successor was titled 001.

Although she now regards New York as home, Latour's early years involved constant movement across borders; born in Sweden, she divided her childhood among residences in London, New York, and Hong Kong. Toward the close of her New York high-school period she issued her debut release, the seven-track collection High School High. During her subsequent studies at Columbia University in New York, tracks such as 2019's "Superfruit," 2020's "Furniture," and the already-mentioned "One More Weekend" propelled her profile upward, the last of these achieving major streaming traction.

Major labels soon expressed interest, resulting in her Warner signing by the start of 2021. That year the imprint put out her second EP, Strangers Forever; in early 2022 it followed with the tracks "Headphones" and "Lola," both of which later appeared on the September release 001.
