German pop vocalist Zoe Wees delivers emotionally charged performances shaped by a dusky, R&B-inflected approach. Her breakthrough arrived via the 2019 debut single “Control,” which opened doors for the 2021 EP Golden Wings and its standout track “Girls Like Us.” Subsequent singles such as the 6LACK duet “That’s How It Goes” sustained momentum until the November 2023 arrival of her first full-length album, Therapy.

Hamburg native Wees discovered her voice early, drawing inspiration from Jessie J and Miley Cyrus. Recognition came when an instructor heard her at a school concert and began nurturing her abilities. In 2015 she reached the finals of the third season of The Voice Kids. After the competition she began building a professional profile, guesting on Moonbootica’s 2019 cut “Hibernating” before issuing her own debut single, “Control,” that same year. The dramatic, piano-driven ballad drew directly from Wees’ childhood experience with benign rolandic epilepsy (BRE). It later reached the Top 40 in Germany, Belgium, and Austria while also charting on Billboard’s Adult Top 40.

Golden Wings, released in May 2021, collected “Control,” the Top Ten German hit “Girls Like Us,” and “Ghost.” Additional streaming successes followed, including the torchy 6LACK collaboration “That’s How It Goes” as well as “Third Wheel” and “Daddy’s Eyes,” all of which appeared on Therapy.
