A vocalist whose warm and expressive delivery carries an intense emotional weight, Clinton Kane first connected with listeners by sharing homemade covers of songs he admired, before evolving into a songwriter whose work channels raw feeling and introspection. Having gained worldwide exposure by supplying the vocals for Martin Garrix’s global hit “Drown,” he revealed his songwriting depth on the 2019 EP This Is What It Feels Like and later balanced candid storytelling with melodic appeal on the 2021 singles “Chicken Tendies” and “I Guess I’m in Love.” Both tracks later featured on his July 2022 debut album, Maybe Someday It’ll All Be OK, while the late-2023 EP And All I Love, I Loved Alone collected additional recent material.

Born November 26, 1999, to parents of Filipino-Norwegian descent, Clinton Kane grew up primarily in Australia, Norway, and the United Kingdom. When his parents separated during his fourteenth year, he and his two brothers were raised by their mother, whose passion for music nurtured her sons’ own creative pursuits. A self-taught instrumentalist proficient on guitar, keyboards, and drums, Kane began uploading online performances in June 2016, interpreting material by artists including James Arthur, Ed Sheeran, the Weeknd, the Chainsmokers, and Khalid. His intimate and forceful style quickly attracted an audience, prompting him to start composing original songs in 2018.

A personal crisis that triggered a panic attack prompted Kane to reach for his guitar and translate his inner turmoil into lyrics and melody. That turning point inspired a deeper exploration of his thoughts and feelings, culminating in the confessional 2019 EP This Is What It Feels Like, which highlighted both his introspective themes and distinctive vocal approach. The project drew the attention of Dutch producer Martin Garrix, who enlisted Kane’s voice for the track “Drown.” The international success of that single expanded Kane’s reach and led to his signing with Columbia Records.

During 2020 he continued releasing candid singles such as “I Don’t Want to Watch the World End with Someone Else,” “Fix It to Break It,” “Hopeless,” and “Remember the Mornings.” In February 2021 he offered the candid and widely relatable “Chicken Tendies,” followed later that year by the charting ballad “I Guess I’m in Love,” which found audiences across Europe and North America. Joined by the more intense “Go to Hell,” these songs appeared on the full-length Maybe Someday It’ll All Be OK. Kane ended 2022 with the standalone releases “Mexico” and “Avo Toast,” then spent 2023 issuing further singles including the energetic “Dancing All Alone” and “Bittersweet,” both of which were later included on And All I Love, I Loved Alone.
