Rasmus Seebach ranks among Denmark’s foremost singer-songwriters and producers. Breakthrough success arrived in 2009 when the single “Engel” topped the charts and anchored his multi-platinum debut album. Over the ensuing decade every follow-up album also reached number one in Denmark, while additional major hits included “I Mine Ojne,” “Olivia,” and “Uanset.” After issuing the 2019 retrospective Tak for Turen: De Første 10 Ar, Seebach concentrated on individual tracks and two EPs, among them 2024’s Sange Fra Askepot (Mine Versioner).

Born 28 March 1980, Rasmus is the son of Tommy Seebach, the well-known Danish pop singer who repeatedly entered Dansk Melodi Grand Prix throughout the 1980s and represented Denmark at the 1981 Eurovision Song Contest. In the ten years before his own solo debut, Rasmus established himself as a sought-after hitmaker. With his brother Nicolai Seebach he launched the production company Top Notch Music and supplied material for Danish pop artists such as Jokeren, Natasja, B-Boys, and Big Brovas. He also explored hip-hop, releasing the G-Bach album Skakmat (1999).

Partnering with Universal Music, Seebach introduced his solo career with “Engel,” which reached number one on the Danish singles chart in 2009. Several months later he issued his self-produced debut album, Rasmus Seebach, which yielded three further Top Five singles (“Glad Igen,” “Den Jeg Er,” “Lidt i Fem”). The second-biggest-selling album in Denmark that year, it remained at number one for 25 weeks and also entered Sweden’s Top Ten. His 2011 album Mer’ End Kærlighed repeated the number-one debut and delivered another chart-topping single, “I Mine Ojne.” Throughout the mid-2010s Seebach remained one of Denmark’s biggest stars; each of his next three albums—Ingen Kan Love Dig I Morgen (2013), Verden ka’ Vente (2015), and Før Vi Mødte Dig (2017)—entered at number one and achieved multi-platinum status. The 2019 best-of collection Tak for Turen: De Første 10 Ar likewise topped the chart and summarized his first decade, after which he issued singles such as 2021’s “Så Længe Vi Danser” and 2022’s “Vores Ar (Nytårssangen)” plus the EPs 4 Til Gulvet (2022) and Sange Fra Askepot (Mine Versioner) (2024).
