What started out as an enigmatic electro-pop endeavor rendered exclusively in lowercase lettering turned out to be the work of Eric Berglund, half of the Swedish duo the Tough Alliance and co-founder of Sincerely Yours, whose roster once featured Memory Tapes, jj, Air France, and the Honeydrips. Following the arrival of the Tough Alliance’s third album, New Chance, Berglund chose to pursue a largely solo outlet, enlisting occasional assistance from producer and labelmate Kendal Johansson. Ahead of White Magic came the single “Come with Me,” with the album itself appearing in Europe during June 2010 and reaching the U.S. that September. Modular issued ceo’s second album, Wonderland, in the first months of 2014.
