Hailing from Florida, Mike Diaz records as MillionYoung, folding in touches of Animal Collective, Toro y Moi, and New Order to shape his languid, repeating sonic textures. In the vein of other chillwave acts, wistful singing floats above a fusion of acoustic playing and programmed electronics while drawing on an ’80s-style array of synth tones. Once the Be So True EP and Sunndreamm EP stirred online interest throughout 2010, Diaz confirmed that Replicants, his debut full-length, would arrive in the first months of 2011.
