Chrissy Murderbot operates as a Chicago-based DJ and producer whose uptempo club tracks fuse booty-bass, grime, rave, juke, and additional styles into a single high-energy sound. Following his relocation from Kansas City in 2007, the seemingly tireless artist launched the independent labels Dead Homies, Loose Squares, and Sleazetone. Drawing on an encyclopedic grasp of dance culture, he set out to complete one new mixtape every week across a full calendar year beginning in 2009. Beyond merely meeting that demanding pace, each installment explored a lone subgenre in depth, tracing the origins of specialized forms such as Italo-disco, steppas reggae, and Latin freestyle. Bringing the same exacting approach to beat-matching and track selection, he later channeled that focus into original productions, issuing the album Women’s Studies on Planet Mu during spring 2011.
